The device has an accumulation element (8) for accumulating a part of particles of an exhaust gas flow, and a heating element (7) with an electrical heating unit e.g. thermo-resistor, for electrically heating the accumulation element for combustion of the particles. An element (10) includes a measurement unit measuring a parameter representing concentration of the accumulated particles. The heating element replaces the element (10) by carrying out measurement of concentration of the accumulated particles with current traversing the heating element.
