The method involves determining presence or absence of a transient signal-phase and presence or absence of a stabilized state signal phase. A time constant value (tau) is modified for making the value to be equal to one among two prescribed values (tau 1, tau 2) for presence and absence of the transient signal-phase respectively, third and fourth prescribed values for presence or absence of the stabilized state signal phase respectively. The value (tau 1) is smaller than the value (tau 2), and the fourth value is smaller than the third value. An independent claim is also included for a device for processing a raw measurement signal to implement a raw measurement signal processing method.
