The device (10) has a pallet (12) pivotingly mounted between an upright position and a lowered position against a fixed support that is integrated to a body of a vehicle. A cable (15) traverses the support by an orifice (17) connected to a sliding sleeve (16) of the cable. The cable includes an end (15a) connected to the pallet at a fixation point and another end connected to a lock of a bonnet. The support has protection units (20) for protecting the support against exterior of the orifice and the point of the cable on the pallet in the lowered position of the pallet against the support.
