The method involves monitoring the stability of the fuel combustion of an internal combustion engine (1) using a combustion stability indicator, where the indicator comprises a sensing torque meter device (4) and an engine roughness detector (5). An injector (3) associated to a cylinder (2) of the internal combustion engine is detected, where the injector causes unstable or vanished fuel combustion. An independent claim is also included for a method for correcting the drift of the quantity of fuel injected by an injector of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.
