PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a display for confirming an image on a remote control apparatus when photographing by communicating with the remote control apparatus in a conventional digital single lens reflex camera. SOLUTION: In a remote system provided with the image pickup device having a mirror means which reflects photographing light flux toward a finder and retreats from the photographing light flux in the case of photographing and a shutter means for controlling an exposure time of an image pickup means that the photographing light flux reaches in the case of photographing, when the display of a subject is instructed by an image display instructing means, the mirror means retreats from the photographing light flux, the shutter means is opened to guide the photographing light flux to the image pickup means, and the subject formed in the image pickup means is continuously captured. The captured image is then transferred to the remote control apparatus, and the images transferred from the image pickup device are successively displayed on a display means of the remote control apparatus.
