To further reduce the radiation of a radio communication system comprising a base station and mobile terminal devices the invention proposes to introduce a standby mode during which no synchronization signals as usual according to the prior art are exchanged between the base station and the mobile terminal devices. Both, the base station and the mobile terminal devices maintain listening watch for a wake-up signal on a particular transmission channel by which the standby-mode is ended and the normal communication mode (active mode) is attempted to be reestablished. |
