The device (10) has a compressed-air supply module (20) including a control device with a woken up switching circuit (30) directly or indirectly coupled to an external timer (40) . The control device repeatedly operates and processes measurement of system pressure when ignition of a commercial motor vehicle is actuated. The timer is formed such that the timer displays waking up signal to the control device. The control device is formed such that the control device operates and processes measurement of the system pressure in connection to receiving of the waking up signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a compressed air supply device for a commercial motor vehicle.
