A frame buffer operating memory for restoring the compressive video and a decoding apparatus suitable for the same in order to efficiently reduce the capacity of the used buffer memory are provided to use storage space of a buffer memory dynamically. A decoder(1010) decodes compression video data encoded by an encoder. A frame-buffer memory(1020) stores I or P frame decoded by the decoder. The frame-buffer memory comprises the store buffer for storing I frame and the wait buffer for storing P frame. The frame outputted from the frame-buffer memory is displayed to screen in the display unit(1040). The type of frame and order of camera are analyzed by the controller(1030) through the header information added in compacted video data. The storage location of P frame and decoded I frame which is outputted from decoder is determined through the analyzed information. |
