A network monitor and a control method expressing the operation state of a fan are provided to confirm whether the fan is driven according to the operation of the fan. It determines whether the power source is applied(S101). If the power source is applied, it senses the fan is driven(S102). It determines whether the fan is operated normally(S103). If the fan is normally driven, the fan is recognized as a normal state(S104). If not, the error of the fan which is not normally driven is indicated(S105). The fan is converted in power saving state(S106). A fan state is checked(S107).
