METHOD FOR PREDICTING MOTION VECTOR

A motion vector prediction method determining information about direction to a reference picture from a block for coding is provided to endow display order information capable of obtaining the directional information of the motion vector about each reference picture. First and second motion vector of the other block and a reference picture index is obtained except the current block. The first motion vector of the current block is determined based on the first motion vector of the other block. The second motion vector of the current block is determined based on the second motion vector of the other block. The reference picture index of the current block is determined based on the reference picture index of the other block. The first motion vector of the current block and the other block and the second motion vector have the respective same direction. The direction shows the direction in which the reference picture which the other block refers is positioned.
