A prefabricated mesh panel retaining wall structure and a construction method thereof are provided to improve the reliability of structure and to cut down on the construction cost. A prefabricated mesh panel retaining wall structure comprises as follows. A wall panel consisting of uniting a plurality of vertical wires(1,2) and horizontal wires(3) with the grid form is laminated and repeated on the rubble foundation over at least two layers. A bottom stiffener(7) including the geogrid is installed in the bottom part of each wall panel. A soil-loss preventive mat and a vegetation mat are successively installed in the backplane of the wall panel.
