A wear protection insert for an agricultural seeding tool having at least on e angled edge on its lower base. The insert is made from wear resistant materi al shaped at an angle preferably ranging from about 135 to 175 degrees to form a doglegged corner component to improve the wear resistance of the soil slicin g edge to the seeding tool.
