PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter and receiver module capable of suppressing a current needed momentarily during a power-on operation, a return from a power-saving operation mode, etc.

SOLUTION: The optical transmitter and receiver module 10 which transmits and receives optical signals using a plurality of channels includes a timing generator 30 which sequentially generates a plurality of different timings and a power supply control unit 32 which performs control to sequentially start supplying electric power to at least part of circuit elements corresponding to the respective channels according to the timings generated by the timing generator 30.
