摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix display device which prevents reduction in the lifetime of a display element and is capable of reducing power consumption and improving display quality, and a driving method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes: a plurality of pixel parts Px which include display elements 16 and pixel circuits 18 and are arranged like a matrix; a plurality of image signal lines connected for each column of pixel parts; and a signal line driving circuit 15. Each pixel circuit includes: a first driving circuit 30 which outputs a driving current corresponding to an image voltage signal from a first driving transistor DRT1 to a display element during low-gradation display and operates the first driving transistor as a switch of linear operation during high-gradation display; and a second driving circuit 30 which outputs a driving current corresponding to an image current signal from a second driving transistor DRT2 to the display element during high-gradation display and operates the second driving transistor as a switch of linear operation during low-gradation display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
