PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier giving high image density, having favorable graininess and stable charge imparting ability for a long period of time and capable of suppressing carrier deposition, and to provide a developer using the carrier, and an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge using the developer. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic latent image development includes core particles having magnetism and a coating layer formed on the surface of the core particle, the coating layer containing at least silicone resin and hard particles, wherein the coating layer contains a dispersant that can disperse the hard particles.
