PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and cost of a lens barrel that uses a lead screw. SOLUTION: A zoom lens frame 51 and a focus lens frame 52 held on lead shafts 47 freely slidably are respectively provided with a zoom carriage 64 and a focus carriage 71 formed with rack gears 65 and 72 respectively. Either the zoom carriage 64 or focus carriage 71 is selectively engaged with a lead screw 48 by a switching plate 49 turned by a switching motor 54. The lead screw 48 is rotated by a screw motor 53. The zoom lens frame 51 or focus lens frame 52 moves in the direction of an optical axis by the rotation of the lead screw 48. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
