PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody mat manufacturing method effectively utilizing bark, lumber remaining materials, thinned wood chips, and saw dust to obtain a biodegradable woody mat or plate while utilizing phytoncide or hinokitiol effects specific to Japanese cedar (cypress) or Japanese cypress for removing sick building syndrome, avoiding stress with aroma and actualizing tranquilization, resulting in antibacterial, tickproof, moldproof and deodorant effects. SOLUTION: Bark fibers obtained by disassembling bark produced in a lumber mill, remaining material chips, and saw dust are put together with starch as binder and kneaded while adding water thereto. They are molded, pressed, hot pressed with heating, and then cooled and dried to obtain the woody mat.
