<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive display device and display method which prevent loss of high frequency components and secures continuity of pixel data when generating a video signal from a source signal. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes: a display part 7 displaying individual video images in a plurality of visual directions, on one screen; and a video signal generation part which generates a video signal resulting from compressing a video source signal for each visual direction at a prescribed compression rate. The video signal generation part generates a new color component with a value resulting from averaging each color component of plurality of adjacent pixels arrayed in a prescribed direction, among pixels constituted of the video source signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
