<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display equipped with a light guide plate having a high-strength projection part. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display which has a projection part 32 projecting from the light guide plate 1 and fitted in a groove part 33 formed on a back light chassis 5, is characterized in that border parts 37 and 38 between the projection part 32 of the light guide plate 1 and the light guide plate 1 are formed not in a right-angled shape, but in a curved-surface shape. Consequently, for example, even if some shock is applied to the light guide plate 1, the shock (force) is received with the wide area (curved surface) of the border parts 37 and 38 and can be dispersed over the curved surface without being concentrated on a narrow range (side part). Consequently, the projection part 32 (light guide plate 1) can be prevented from breaking (cracking) and the strength of the light guide plate 1 can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
