<p>A breakage detection device for detecting breakage of window glass capable of opening and closing an opening of a vehicle. The breakage detection device has a clip, a magnetism sensor, a detection section, and a determination section. The clip is placed at an end section of the window glass and holds the end section with a force capable of crushing the end section when the window glass is broken. The magnetic sensor detects displacement of at least a part of the clip caused by the breakage of the window glass. The detection section obtains, at predetermined intervals, output values from the magnetism sensor and detects a temporal variation of the output values from the magnetism sensor. The determination section determines that the window glass is broken when the temporal variation detected by the detection section is out of an allowable range.</p> |
