LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION AND ITS USE

This invention provides a liquid crystal composition, which contains a compound having a high ? n value, can realize even alignment, and can provide a layer having a broad reflection zone, a circularily polarized light separating sheet, which has a broad reflection zone, has uniform optical properties, and can be simply produced, and use of the circularily polarized light separating sheet. The liquid crystal composition is characterized by comprising (i) a polymerizable liquid crystal compound having a specific structure with a ? n value of not less than 0.18, (ii) a polymerizable compound having a specific structure with a ? n value of not less than 0.18, a polymerizable chiral compound, and a photopolymerization initiator. The circularily polarized light separating sheet is produced by curing the liquid crystal composition. There are also provided a process for producing the circularily polarized light separating sheet, a brightness improving film comprising the circularily polarized light separating sheet and a phase difference film, and a liquid crystal display device comprising the brightness improving film.
