<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lip type seal allowing components of the lip type seal to be easily separated and sorted out on a material basis, thereby responding to requirements in terms of recycling, excelling in an attachment keeping property between the components, and excelling in mountability as well. <P>SOLUTION: This lip type seal includes: a first lip seal member 11 made of a rubber-like elastic body, and provided with a cylindrical part 12 fitted to the inner periphery of a shaft hole 72 of a housing 71, and a first seal lip 14 arranged on a sealed fluid side A and brought into press contact with a shaft 73; a second lip seal member 21 made of a resin, and provided with a second seal lip 23 arranged on an atmosphere side B and brought into press contact with the shaft 73; a metallic backup ring 31 supporting the second lip seal member 21; and a metallic holding ring 41 holding the second lip seal member 21 and the backup ring 31. Those respective components are assembled without using adhesive bonding in a state where the outer peripheral surface of the holding ring 41 is brought into contact with and fitted to the inner peripheral surface of the first lip seal member 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
