PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control pressure of a back pressure chamber in adjusting damping force by controlling the pressure of the back pressure chamber arranged on a back surface side of a damping valve, in a damping force adjustment structure of a hydraulic buffer. SOLUTION: This damping force adjustment structure of a hydraulic buffer 10 is structured such that a part of oil is introduced into the back pressure chamber 51 arranged on the back surface side of the damping valve 33 from a back-pressure introduction passage 60; the pressure in the back pressure chamber 51 is leaked from a leak passage 70 to control the pressure of the back pressure chamber 51; and thereby valve-opening pressure of the damping valve 33 is controlled so that the damping force can be adjusted. In the damping force adjustment structure, a plate valve 61 with a slit is arranged in the back-pressure introduction passage 60, and the slit 61A provided for the plate valve 61 with a slit is used as an introduction-side orifice 60A.
