PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure good cycle life characteristics in pulse charging of a nonaqueous secondary battery. SOLUTION: The method for charging a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes repeating pulse charging and charging pause, wherein a pulse charging time is arbitrarily set between a lower limit value and an upper limit value. The lower limit value is an inverse time Tx of: a frequency Fx of the high frequency side at which an imaginary component of an alternating current impedance of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery shows a first local maximum value; or an adjacent frequency thereof. The upper limit value is an inverse time Ty of: a frequency Fy at the low frequency side at which an imaginary component of the alternating current impedance of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery shows a second local maximum value; or an adjacent frequency thereof.
