PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch capable of sure electric contact-separation with a simple constitution, in the switch mainly used for turning on and off control of a stop lamp of an automobile. SOLUTION: By arranging a hard plating layer formed of at least one of nickel or palladium, rhodium and ruthenium on a fixed contact point 12 implanted in an inside wall of a substantially box-shaped case 1 and a movable contact point 14 of elastically contacting an end part held by an operation body 3 with the fixed contact point 12, since the hard plating layer of a high melting point and hardness is formed on the surface of the fixed contact point 12 and the movable contact point 14, even when operation of the switch is repeated over a long period, burning damage by a rush current of the plating layer and mechanical abrasion by elastic contact sliding are hardly caused, and a sure and stable electric contact-separation possible switch can be provided.
