PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof connector which is down-sized by improving operability of a male-side retainer and a female-side retainer and making down-sized a counterpart connector engaging portion. SOLUTION: When a male-side connector A and a female side connector B are arranged to face with each other in a state that a male-side connecting terminal 45 is arranged to face a female-side connecting terminal 82, a male-side lance 14 and a female-side lance 72 are arranged to be separated from each other in a direction crossing at right angles with an insertion/pulling-out direction (I) of connectors, and the female-side lance 72 is reversed to face an opposite direction against the female lance 14, and the male-side retainer 23 and the female-side retainer 74 are arranged in separation from each other crossing at right angles, and the male-side retainer 23 is extended into one of the counterpart connector engaging portions 4 and the female-side retainer 75 is extended into the other counterpart connector engaging portion 62.
