PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive signal light to execute proper processing when a remote operator is operated for a video display part being a man-machine interface, with respect to a video display device. SOLUTION: A video display device X includes: a liquid crystal display 1 which has a front surface covered with a transparent reinforcing panel 2 having a front surface 2b subjected to non-glare treatment with irregularities; a signal light receiving sensor 5 which receives signal light Ls incident from the front surface of the reinforcing panel 2 and emitted from an end surface of the reinforcing panel 2; and a reflective film 7 which reflects signal light Ls which has reached a peripheral end surface of the reinforcing panel 2, in a part other than a lighting part 2a on the end surface, to the inside of the reinforcing panel 2.
