PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the diameter of a diaphragm spring, and to prevent reduction of pressing pressure acting on an output-side rotating body. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a clutch housing, the output-side rotating body, a clutch section, a pressure plate, the diaphragm spring, and a release member. The clutch housing is connected to an input-side member, and the output-side rotating body is connected to an output-side member. The clutch section is arranged between the clutch housing and the pressure plate. The pressure plate has a plurality of projecting sections projecting in the axial direction. The diaphragm spring has an outer peripheral section pressing the output-side rotating body and has a plurality of through-holes through which the projections can pass. The release member is fixed to the tips of the plurality of projecting sections, supports, at its inner peripheral section, the inner peripheral section of the diaphragm spring, and releases pressing force of the diaphragm spring applied to the output-side rotating body.
