摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, in a conventional lateral support mechanism of a vertical pipe which laterally supports the vertical pipe by using an antivibration material of a structure with hard rubber and soft rubber serially connected to each other, when the building is largely deformed in an earthquake, force over an allowable load acts on the soft rubber to break it, whereby the antivibration material must be replaced after such a situation occurs. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the lateral support mechanism of a vertical pipe in a building wherein, in the support mechanism laterally supporting the vertical pipe 1 to the building by rubber, the rubber is composed by separately forming rubber 4a for vibration isolation small in a spring constant, and rubber 4b for large deformation prevention large in a spring constant; the rubber small in a spring constant is supported by being brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the vertical pipe; and the rubber large in a spring constant is supported with a space 5 from the outer peripheral surface of the vertical pipe.
