PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal powder manufacturing apparatus capable of inexpensively manufacturing high-quality metal powder by using a water atomization method, and the high-quality metal powder manufactured by such metal powder manufacturing apparatus. SOLUTION: The metal powder manufacturing apparatus 1 comprises: a supply unit 2 which supplies the molten metal Q; a water jet point 3 which is installed in the lower part of the supply unit 2, and where a flow passage allowing the passage of the molten metal Q supplied from the supply unit 2 and an orifice for injecting the water to the flow passage are formed; a metal powder discharge section (flow passage bottom end) which is connected to an end on a downstream side of the flow passage and provided with a discharge port for discharging the metal powder R; a gas supply unit 8 which supplies a nonoxidizing gas G to a first space 61 where the upstream end of the flow passage is located; a return path 12 which causes the gas containing the nonoxidizing gas G to return to the first space 61 from the second space 62 where the downstream end of the flow passage is located; and a moisture removal device 13 which is disposed in the middle of the return path 12 and removes the moisture from the gas.
