PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a landing door closing device of simple structure for an elevator capable of preventing a failure in the landing door closing operation. SOLUTION: This landing door closing device for the elevator comprises an engagement guide 1 provided at a car door, an engaging element 6 provided at a landing door 2 so as to be held by the engagement guide 1 when the landing door 2 is opened, and on the other hand, so as to be released from holding by the engagement guide 1 immediately before the landing door 2 is fully closed and moved to the landing door 2, a first contact point 14 moved in conjunction with the engaging element 6, a second contact point 15 moved in conjunction with the engaging element 6 so as to be brought in contact with the first contact point 14 when the engaging element 6 is released from holding by the engagement guide 1 immediately before the landing door 2 is fully closed, and an electromagnet 17 provided at one of door stops of the landing door 2 so as to be excited when the first contact point 14 and the second contact point 15 are brought in contact with each other and attracted to the other of the door stops by an electromagnetic force generated by excitation so as to fully close the landing door.
