<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated piezo-electric element hardly causing dielectric breakdown and mechanical destruction, high in reliability and long in the life thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The laminated piezo-electric element is provided with an element body 11 consisting of a plurality of piezo-electric materials 13 and a plurality of internal electrodes 15 which are laminated alternately, and a pair of external electrodes 17 to which one ends of the internal electrodes 15 are connected alternately while the other ends of the internal electrodes 15 are insulated from the external electrodes 17 by an insulator 21 in a recessed groove 19 provided on the side surface of the element body 11. Irregularities are formed on the inner surface of the recessed groove 19 by the particles of ceramic which constitute the piezo-electric material 13. When the width of an opening in the laminating direction of the recessed groove 19 is shown by W, the thickness of the internal electrode 15 in the direction of lamination is shown by te, and the thickness of the piezo-electric material 13 in the direction of lamination is shown by t, the relation of 1≤(W-te)/t is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
