摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize accurate ignition timing control based on torque efficiency without causing increase of calculation load in a control device for an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: Estimation torque provided when ignition timing is set to MBT under present air quantity condition, and torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>is calculated from a ratio of target torque and estimation torque. A dimensionless parameter valueη<SB>f</SB>determining ignition retardation quantity is set based on the torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>, and target ignition timing is set based on the dimensionless parameter valueη<SB>f</SB>.
