<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize accurate ignition timing control based on torque efficiency without causing increase of calculation load in a control device for an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: Estimation torque provided when ignition timing is set to MBT under present air quantity condition, and torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>is calculated from a ratio of target torque and estimation torque. A dimensionless parameter valueη<SB>f</SB>determining ignition retardation quantity is set based on the torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>, and target ignition timing is set based on the dimensionless parameter valueη<SB>f</SB>. The dimensionless parameter valueη<SB>f</SB>is set one by one to torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>when torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>is a predetermined valueαor less, and is fixed to a constant value when the torque efficiencyη<SB>b</SB>exceeds the predetermined valueα. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
