OPTICAL TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an influence of an electromagnetic field radiated from an LD side to a PD side without causing power loss of an optical signal and to easily make a module compact on the whole. SOLUTION: An optical transmission and reception module 1a is disclosed which has an LD 18 and a PD 12 for photodetection mounted above a stem 10a. The LD 18 is disposed above the stem 10a across a heat sink 20 formed with wiring patterns 27b and 27a connected to a cathode and an anode, and the PD 12 for photodetection is disposed on the stem 10a; and a wiring pattern 27b is wired nearer the LD 18 than the wiring pattern 27a, and the length of the side of the wiring pattern 27b opposed to the LD 18 is set shorter than the length of the side of the wiring pattern 27a opposed to the LD 18.
