PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for rotating-code addressing for a plasma display reducing overbrightness. SOLUTION: The device for addressing a plasma panel comprises a video processing circuit for processing received digital video data, a correspondence memory 8 for transcoding these data, and a video memory for storing the transcoded data. The video memory is connected to a column driver circuit for controlling the column addressing of the plasma panel. The transcoded data have a greater number of bits than the received digital video data, and the processing circuit comprises a means for differently coding identical values of the received digital video data.
