PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical pickup device which eliminates tilt of an objective lens based on focus control by uniforming a thrust generated at a pair of focus coils during focus control, and attains focusing to the target recording track highly precisely. SOLUTION: One magnet 50a of a pair of focus magnets is larger in thickness at magnetic center positions of respective magnetic poles, the other magnet 50b of the focus magnets is smaller in thickness at magnetic center positions of respective magnetic poles. When a movable object 20 holding an objective lens is at a neutral position, a center of a thrust generation part of a pair of focus coils 27 is aligned with a magnetic neutral position of a pair of focus magnets 50a, 50b.
