SLIDING MEMBER COATING COMPOSITION, SLIDING MEMBER, AND PISTON FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member coating composition, a sliding member, and a piston for an internal combustion engine enabling reduction of friction coefficient and increase of wear resistance by optimizing compounding ratio of solid lubricant by using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as the solid lubricant. SOLUTION: Sliding member coating composition relating to a form of this embodiment comprises binder which is coating composition forming resin coating layer of which component is 71-78 wt.% heat resistant resin, 3-5 wt.% polytetrafluoroethylene, and 19-24 wt.% molybdenum disulfide. Average grain diameter of the polytetrafluoroethylene measured by laser diffraction scattering type grain size distribution measuring method is in a range from 0.1 to 2.0μm and grain diameter of the molybdenum disulfide measured by laser diffraction scattering type grain size distribution measuring method is in a range from 0.5 to 3.0μm.
