The invention relates to a glucose dehydrogenase which has a value obtained by dividing an enzymatic activity value in the case of using NADP as a coenzyme by an enzymatic activity value in the case of using NAD as a coenzyme (NADP/NAD activity ratio) of 300 or more, a gene thereof, and a transformant transfected with the gene. The enzyme of the invention has an extremely high specificity for NADP and can be preferably used for production of NADPH, coenzyme regeneration in enzymatic reduction reaction, a biosensor for measuring a glucose concentration, etc.
