PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a multilayered optical recording medium, wherein different recording conditions appropriate for each recording layer are used in recording by reading the result of test writing on each layer every time the medium is loaded, when data are written after a beam for writing transmits through a recorded layer, transmittances are different from each other depending on the recorded state and appropriate recording conditions cannot be obtained, while when data are sequentially written from the backmost layer, test writing areas may be changed due to decentration.
SOLUTION: A test recording range of a lower recording layer is shifted relative to a test recording range of an upper recording layer by an amount greater than a difference of decentration amounts between the layers or a maximum decentration amount instead of aligning all the test writing ranges in the layers in a direction perpendicular to the recording surface. The shifting direction is inverse to a test recording range adding direction in a radius direction of the recording medium.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
