<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of detecting the temperature of a pot at a high speed, improving temperature detection accuracy further and appropriately controlling a heating amount. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of infrared transmission parts 7 for transmitting infrared rays from the pot are provided between the pot and an infrared sensor 8, and the infrared sensor 8 includes a sensor base material 20, a plurality of detecting thermal elements 22 provided facing the plurality of infrared transmission parts 7 for detecting the temperature change of the sensor base material, a compensating thermal element 23 for compensating the temperature detected by the detecting thermal elements 22, an infrared absorbing layer 24 provided facing the respective detecting thermal elements 22 for absorbing the infrared rays, and an infrared reflecting layer 25 provided facing the compensating thermal element 23 for reflecting the infrared rays. Thus, the heating amount is controlled corresponding to pot temperature detection information by the plurality of detecting thermal elements 22 and the compensating thermal element 23.
