<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide molding die and method able of improving quality and productivity of composite melded articles without using an autoclave apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The molding die comprises mainly of a mold surface shell layer 15 having a mold surface 32 conforming to the shape of the composite molded article, and a support 16 for supporting the mold surface shell layer 15. The mold surface shell layer 15 comprises an air-permeable material and a prepreg member 34 is put on the mold surface 32. Then, the prepreg member 34 is covered with a non-permeable vacuum bag film 35, and vacuum is applied to a cavity portion 30 of the support 16. As the mold surface shell layer 15 is air-permeable, air residing in the mold surface 32 may be discharged to the inside of the cavity portion 30 through the mold surface shell layer 15. Consequently, the prepreg member 34 is pushed onto the mold surface 32 by the atmospheric pressure outside of the vacuum bag film 35 and fixed firmly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
