<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve fuel efficiency by reducing energy consumption due to rotational speed control that is performed when an automatic transmission part is held in a neutral state in order to secure controllability in switching the automatic transmission part to a state of power transmission. <P>SOLUTION: If the automatic transmission part 20 is held in a neutral state while an engine 10 is maintained in a predetermined operating condition, the rotational speed (second motor rotational speed nmg2) of a transmission member 18 is controlled by a first motor generator MG1 to reach a predetermined target rotational speed nmtag in order to secure controllability for a shift from N to D.
