<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a drive current of each electro-optical element while suppressing enlargement and complication of a circuit. <P>SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of unit circuits includes a drive transistor TDR and an electro-optical element W. The drive transistor TDR includes a gate D having a potential VG set in accordance with a data signal D[j] and a back gate B for controlling a channel formed in accordance with the potential VG of the gate G. The electro-optical element E has gradation changed in accordance with a drive current IDR flowing to the drive transistor TDR. A potential control circuit 38 variably controls a control potential VCTL in accordance with an operation mode.
