<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress upsizing of an image forming apparatus with a simple structure, and also, to prevent a sheet conveying belt and an intermediate transfer belt from meandering and deviating with an easy operation, without deteriorating user's convenience. <P>SOLUTION: The circulating belt body 13 of an intermediate transfer belt or the like on which a developer image is transferred by a process cartridge, is prevented from being close to one side in a driving direction by engaging an abutting rib 13a disposed on the belt body 13 side with a grooved flange 15c having an annular groove disposed at the end part of a tension roller 15. Further, when the abutting rib 13a is separated from the grooved flange 15c to run on the tension roller 15, the rib 13a is effectively prevented from running on the tension roller 15 by pressing the rib 13a from above through the use of a roller member 91 (run-on preventing member).
