PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle controller capable of constructing a system in external shape and cost equivalent to those of a carriage that is controlled of induction motor to permanent magnet synchronous motors. SOLUTION: The electric vehicle controller having a plurality of N permanent magnet synchronous motors 3 as electric vehicle motors and a plurality of N VVVF inverters main circuits 14 that separately drive a plurality of permanent magnet synchronous motors, wherein a plurality of L (N=M×L) VVVF inverter units 14, 18 with each as one unit are configured by connecting N VVVF inverter main circuits in units of M circuits (M=N/2 or less) in series or in parallel to individually control a plurality of L VVVF inverter units with a plurality of L inverter controllers 12.
