PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, an imaging method, and a program which can detect face area of a photographing object at photographing, associate the photographed image information with the detected face area information, and store them in a database. SOLUTION: An imaging device is offered provided with an imaging unit which performs imaging; a face detection unit which detects the facial region of a photographing object out of images photographed by the imaging unit; an internal memory which can store a database that records image information photographed by the imaging unit with the facial region information detected by the face detection unit, while associating them with each other in units of images; a database recording unit which associates the image information photographed by the imaging unit with the face area information detected by the face detection unit and stores them in the database; and an image recording unit which records the images photographed by the imaging unit.
