<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge abnormality of occupant detection means in real time. <P>SOLUTION: This occupant detection system of a vehicle comprises occupant detection means 34 installed to a seat 12 of the vehicle and detecting a condition of an occupant 11, a seat belt device 10 restraining the occupant 11 to the seat 12, and control means 41 controlling the seat belt device 10. The control means 41 comprises comparison means 47 for comparing a driving-time output signal and a non-driving time output signal where an output signal of the occupant detection means 34 when the seat belt device 10 is not driven while the occupant 11 sits on the seat 12 and wears the seat belt 10 is a non-driving time output signal, and an output signal of the occupant detection means 34 when the seat belt device 10 is driven while the occupant 11 sits on the seat 12 and wears the seat belt device 10 is a driving-time output signal; and abnormality judging means 48 for judging abnormality of the occupant detection means 34 based on comparison results of the comparison means 47. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
