<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-hardness sintered compact which has a high cBN content and is capable of fully exhibiting the characteristic properties, such as high hardness and high thermal conductivity, which is inherent in cBN, and thus is applicable also to high-speed cutting of a hardly cut material and can achieve a long tool lifetime. <P>SOLUTION: The cubic boron nitride sintered compact is a sintered compact based on cubic boron nitride, wherein at least one element selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, Br and I is contained, and the concentration of the element is 50 ppb to 100 ppm by wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
