<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, image processing method, and image forming apparatus, in which conventional thinning technology is applied to such an image that one pixel is processed at multi-gray-level while controlling an increase in a device cost. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with: a section (110) for extracting outline pixels on a bit plane where one bit out of a plurality of bits representative of the intensity of each pixel is collected for a plurality of pixels; connectibility detecting sections (151, 152) for detecting adjacent bits of identical value in a window including a bit corresponding to a remarked pixel on the bit plane; and a filter section (132) for reducing the intensity of the remarked pixel by an amount determined according to outline pixels extracted in the outline pixel extracting section and the adjacent bits of identical value detected in the connectibility detecting sections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
