PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transmitting an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal that can accurately correct a change in received level and/or in frequency band, and consequently produce no erroneous determination on demodulated data, and to provide a receiving apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal that is transmitted from a transmitting side to a receiving side, in addition to a symbol Sm that contains data to be transmitted, specific symbols S0 that have a predetermined specific pattern are intermittently included. On the receiving side, based on the received specific symbol S0, a change in received level and/or a change in frequency band of the received signal are detected and corrected. Because the specific symbol S0 has the specific pattern, a change in the level and/or a change in the frequency are strongly correlated with the change in the received level and/or the change in the frequency band of the received signal. Accordingly, it is possible to exactly detect the change in the received level and/or in the frequency band of the received signal, and consequently a highly accurate correction can be carried out.
